Hi, I am really desperate ... After many sacrifices I bought my first Pimax 5k! I was very happy and I immediately purchased a comfort kit.
Unfortunately, unlike the tutorials that you see on youtube for the assembly of the comfort kit, MY OLD MASK WAS VERY HARD TO REMOVE, as if it were glued, and unfortunately without realizing it I made too much force and the Headset broke in several places.
In despair, I tried to repair my Pimax by using glu ande handmade plates to prevent the cracks from getting bigger. I also applied some stickers to cover other glued parts. I thought I had done a good job, turning an accident into a nice thing, but shortly thereafter I discovered that the Headset has a series of IR sensors under the plastic and I covered some, 6 or more ...
I have no way to test the operation of the sensors because I do not yet have the opportunity to purchase the base station for position tracking, and I fear that if I buy them then the pimax will not work properly.
The most important question is: CAN MY PIMAX WORK WITH THESE SENSORS COVERED FOR POSITION TRACKING? I can't remove plates because they are glued. Please give me an answer, I dreamed of having a Pimax from the first time I saw it, and I dreamed one day of buying base stations and controllers but now I am morally destroyed for this!
Here you can see some pictures of my repair...
