Not sure what happened, but other than more than half the time my 4k unit isn't recognized, I downloaded the latest PiTool, and something changed whereas on each side of the viewing area a dark vertical bar is taking up more screen space than what was originally viewable. Although problems arise, I feel Pimax has done as much as they can to provide more quality and technology so as to provide the ultimate experience.
I don't need the 4K anymore as I've ordered the 8K X and base with controllers last Nov, and finally have been advised they will be shipping out these units. Very long wait, but then again great things are worth waiting for. Hopefully the unit comes in working order. Had to replace two 4k units which arrived defective, a 5k unit totally dead out of the box, but yet here I am still an avid Pimax fan knowing the pains that startups have in growing their company. But I'm confident now that Pimax has upped their quality control as well as customer support, and I've content knowing that we were not forgotten and that all is well.
just a wild thought but maybe there is some wiggle in the worn-in-ness of the usb ports / display ports and a certain wiggle might make contact better than another wiggle. that or maybe there would benefit from a slight usb port over-volt if your mobo comes with such feature (like 0.1volt addition). so many factors and variables and unknowns.
im proud you're still so humble and wish you the best with the 8k x. im happy with mine.
